Let me paint you a picture. It’s 3 am, you’re already on coffee number 3, and your exam is tomorrow. Did that situation ring a bell?

It definitely does for me.

Finals season is probably the most stressful situation you will experience in college.

Between the late nights, the cramming for information, and the long exams, it can feel like there isn’t a second of reprieve from the stress.

As overwhelming as it can feel, a quick break from the stress is necessary.

And one of the quickest ways to cool your brain is laughing at a funny meme, especially if it’s timely and relatable.

To help you out with that, I made 25 college finals memes that will hopefully take your mind off your stress and help you to return to your studies with a fresh head.

Why You Need a Good Laugh During College Finals

Have you ever heard the phrase “laughter is the best medicine”? That definitely applies during exam season.

In my experience, one of the worst things you can do when trying to test prep is to lock yourself away and study 24/7.

It really does you some good to include some rest time in your schedule and do something more fun.

And this isn’t just all talk. When you laugh, your brain releases chemicals that make you feel happier and can help reduce stress.

In the short term, it lightens your mental load and keeps your head clear.

In the long term, it can have even greater effects. But laughing at memes is more than just science.

The reason memes about bad situations like finals week can exist is because we find them relatable.

It helps us to feel like we aren’t alone in these situations and can help us get closer to those in our communities.

As silly as they seem, memes are actually very good for us and can potentially make those rough finals experience just a little easier.

The Pre-Finals Panic

Here’s a few memes for the build-up to finals time, my least favorite part of the process.

This time can be the MOST stressful because, as far away as they feel, you know the exams are gonna come faster than you expect.

All you can do is try to prepare for the incoming storm.

The Procrastination Phase

As much as we think we want to study, I think we can all agree that studying is one of the last things on our minds in the buildup to finals season.

Our minds naturally want to wander to hundreds of much more fun and less boring things than test prepping.

Don’t feel too guilty about it, but if you let it take over, you’ll definitely regret it later.

 All-Nighter Survival Mode

These memes are the reason I keep cans of Celsius in my fridge at all times.

We’re past the procrastination phase, and because of how little we studied, now we have to cram everything in the night before.

Full panic mode now, but there’s no time to focus on the panic; it’s time to cram and pray.

Exam Day Meltdown

Here it is, the big day. If you thought the panic of last night was bad, it’s a hundred times worse now.

No more time to study, what’s done is done. We can only hope our last-minute cramming was effective and observe our fellow students panicking.

Post-Exam Regret & Relief

At least it’s over? To be honest, whether you did well or poorly, it always feels very relieving to just be finished.

At this point, you go to your friends to discuss how you think you did and compare answers you weren’t sure of.

The waiting game of receiving your scores isn’t fun, but take solace in the fact that the stress is over, and you finally have a chance to get a good night’s sleep.

How to Make Your Own College Finals Memes

Say you have some more free time between studying and are still hungry for some timely comedy.

Well, making your own memes can be just as fun as looking at them.

And it’s actually really easy to do as well. Websites like Imgflip and Canva give you all the tools you need to craft any meme that pops into your head right in your browser.

It’s as easy as picking a format, slapping in your text, and downloading it to your computer, ready to share with all your friends.

My friends and I have been using Imgflip to make memes for each other since high school, and it’s just as easy as it’s always been.

I used it to create several of the memes you just (hopefully) laughed at.

Memes are such an important part of our generation’s culture, and part of why we like them so much is because of one key element: relatability.

I find some of the funniest memes are the ones that are both hyper-specific and super relatable.

If you experienced something funny during finals time, chances are it would make for a good meme.

Study Hacks to Actually Survive Finals

Alright, enough jokes, it’s time to lock in. As funny as it is to joke about failing finals, you won’t be laughing when you actually see the low scores.

So, it’s very important to actually study well while you laugh. The best way to keep yourself on track is to keep a close eye on your time management.

Plan out your study sessions in advance so you can get an adequate amount of both study hours and leisure hours.

Having a balance of them is important to keep your mind sharp. Also, make sure you’re getting enough sleep, especially in the days directly leading up to the test.

You want to make sure you’re well-rested, as that’s a big part of preparedness and will help you to recall your information better.

Final Thoughts

I really hope laughing at these memes helped you a bit. Finals time can be extremely stressful, overwhelming, and difficult, but as I outlined earlier, laughing is a fantastic way to deal with those feelings.

It’s in your best interest to seek out that fun and stay happy as you study, as it may improve your grades.

If you liked any of the memes I shared here, feel free to share them with your friends.

And if you feel particularly inspired, make your own memes and share them around.

We’d love to see what you can come up with. Together, we can make everyone’s final experience just a bit brighter.
