“I will never truly be viewed as an American because I am Hispanic. I will still be viewed as an immigrant”
New Jersey
I am a second generation. I don’t really have the experience of an immigrant. My grandmother is an immigrant and she came to this country in 1969. She maintained four jobs just to take care of my mother and her sisters. I know that even though I am not an immigrant, I feel as though I will never truly be viewed as an American because I am Hispanic.I will still be viewed as an immigrant, especially in the eyes of Trump. My thought on trump is: ‘I hate him.’ I stopped watching the news because of him. I feel like we are going backwards. We talk about this great America and how important education is but we make it difficult for immigrants to experience this ‘great’ country.
