I Am An Immigrant – Voices

I am not an immigrant. I was born in the United States. However, I do see and hear the struggles immigrants have to go through just to become citizens. It isn’t fair. I wish I can help. I think that it is important to stop discriminating against immigrants based on the fear that society puts into our heads. I think immigration should be more encouraged due to the positive effects that it can have for our country’s economy. People often look at immigrants with fear because they believe that they are going to steal jobs that other people worked for and that’s not accurate. They come to America to feel equal and to acquire something better for their family and themselves. Immigrants are people. They should not be judge because they weren’t raised in fortunate circumstances like others. Instead they should be helped.
