“As long as the U.S. keeps maintaining an unbalanced superstructure like WASP as the in-fact ruling class, it is impossible for racial equality to exist.”
Beijing, China
The United States is a country of immigration. In the beginning, the technology and capital brought by ‘high quality’ immigrants provided the skeleton of America as a country. Irish and Italian people from Europe also provided huge amount of labor to America. They also share similar culture background with American people which makes it very easy for them to fit in American mainstream culture. The United States became prosperous because of immigrants, and will also decay because of immigration. On the one hand, America has been facing ‘Hollowing out of industry’ for a long time. There are no enough jobs for majority of white Americans and hence it is hard to guarantee the employment of immigrants. That forms a hot bed of potential crime. On the other hand, I don’t know the reason but seemingly, it’s extremely difficult for immigrants to fit in American mainstream culture. So, with the increase of immigrants, American will meet more serious challenges such as racial issues. The overall trend can’t be reversed simply by the ‘Great Wall’ of Trump. I am personally not optimistic with a top-down reform. Maybe the only way to solve this problem is a bottom-up reshuffle. As long as the U.S. keeps maintaining an unbalanced superstructure like WASP as the in-fact ruling class, it is impossible for racial equality to exist.
