“I have been moving around since a very young age so I don’t really like staying in the same place for a long time.”
Tallinn, Estonia
Estonia is an interesting place. There’s a clear division between the progressive youth we have and the older conservative community. It’s now a tech country with a great education system. Young people can start their own startups easily with a lot of government funding, but then there’s also left over presence of Soviet times. Estonia for me is too small and I have always liked bigger cities, so it’s too suffocating for me currently. I have been moving around since a very young age since my father is a diplomat, so I don’t really like staying in the same place for a long time, although I think I’d like to live and work in the same place for a while. Even though I knew Estonia had a lot of opportunities, I also knew I wanted to go somewhere else to study. I feel a lot of pressure to do well and if I do all of this work, and end up going back to Estonia, I think I’d let everyone down, and I don’t want to let anyone down.
