Everyone has a mantra that they live by; a motto they tell themselves to guide them through the day. Quotes take different shapes when they’re referred to in varying contexts.

People may try to put today’s woman in a box, limit her success, and demean her accomplishments. For a woman to grow in this day and age, she should heed the advice of women before her.

In order for a woman to come into her own, she should focus on herself. I define a good girl as the best version of yourself, and to become a good girl, you only have to be yourself.

On the other hand, I would define a bad girl as someone who doesn’t conform to the typical roles of women in society. A bad girl would be the one to go against the mold. Bad girls do not need anyone to tell them who they are, because they already know.

One of the latest trends swarming TikTok is a great satire on the difference between a good girl and a bad girl. The trend involves women acting out menial tasks in a very sensuous manner to the song “Glory Box” by Portishead in order to demonstrate the male gaze in films.

The male gaze versus the female gaze has become a topic of interest in popular culture because it shows a clear divide of how women view themselves and men compared to how men traditionally perceive themselves and women.

The trend demonstrates a desire for women to separate themselves from being a sex object, a boy-crazed love interest that accompanies a man’s story, and instead show that women exist without the influence of or need for a man.

This trend highlights a way to rewrite the narrative of what defines a good girl and a bad girl.

This article is an abundance of quotes to inspire and insight feminine power in girls so you can become the best version of yourselves.

All the quotes here are taken from strong female role models, whether they be fictional characters of television, film, or books, or real-life celebrities and activists. The quotes in this article will hopefully insight some vengeance against the patriarchy, and inspire new mantras to tell yourself.

Two college students high five with motivation

Everyone has had that moment when there’s an essay due in an hour, and there’s only the title on the page. Everyone has studied for a test the night before, not knowing if they’ll get a good grade.

Sometimes, it’s hard to get going. Sometimes, you lose sight of the point of your work, and you get discouraged. Sometimes, you’re waiting for a single thing to motivate you.

Especially in the times of COVID, students have been less motivated because of online school. A return to school can be daunting after a year of being locked inside.

I’m a little apprehensive myself. However, that’s not going to stop me from working hard once I get back, no matter what it takes.

It may sound cheesy, but sometimes, we need something to look to for motivation. I’m sure we all remember the little posters on our teacher’s walls — like the cat that says “hang in there!”

Sometimes, a silly quote (or even a serious one) will change your outlook for the moment.

That is why I have compiled the best list of motivational quotes for students. Check them out below. I hope they help you get inspired and encourage you to always do your best.
