I think that history right now is repeating. What’s going on is nothing new. With social media, it’s coming to light more. Our generation has never dealt with anything on a large scale like this. I think that people are losing their minds. People are more honest.
The state that America is in is disheartening but it’s much needed. I am all the way for gun control. Constitutionally, people are entitled to the right to bear arms, but I do think guns are getting into the wrong hands.
People who don’t need them have access to them whether they are minors or mentally ill or just plain racist. Guns are for protection and should be used as such.
By just having stricter laws, we could prevent a lot of these mass shootings. The second amendment states that we have the right to bear arms.
When the Constitution was written, black people weren’t even considered as humans back then.
Now we just need to make sure that people of color have the ability to legally obtain weapons. In our family, we have many guns. My stepfather has a handgun on his side of the bed and so does my mother. We have BB guns in our kitchen cabinets.
Once I live by myself, I probably will own a gun. If I am going to do this, I’m going to do it the right way. My goal is to not kill but to just disarm intruders until the police get to the premise. There are multiple causes as to why these mass shootings keep happening.
The first is hate. The second is lack of resources and/or opportunities. As far as the police shootings, that’s fear of the black man and somehow black men have been deemed as a threat. I don’t think all cops are bad.
There are bad apples in every organization. However, when you are supposed to be a protector of citizens and you are legally permitted to carry and to use a gun, you have to be more careful than the average citizen.
