“Valentine’s Day is not just for couples, it’s about love in general. It’s a day to spend time with all the people that you love, it doesn’t have to be a romantic partner.”
I don’t know when I knew I was in love. Usually, the thought of going on dates and being intimate with a guy would make me really anxious, but I never really felt that way with my current boyfriend. I actually wanted to hang out with him; It didn’t feel like something I had to do. I never thought I would ever like a guy this much. I’d always be like, ‘I hate them all,’ and ‘I’ll never find love,’ but I’m glad I was wrong. My friends tell me we’re meant for each other, and I feel the same way, so I’d like to agree. I’d say I show my love by supporting him. Like if he’s stressed or upset about something, I’ll try to offer advice and just be there for him. It’s actually his birthday today and I’m making him two cakes so, I guess that goes to show how much I love him too. I think, at the end of the day, love is just caring about someone and them caring about you back, and always wanting what’s best for each other. This past Valentine’s Day was actually my first one with a boyfriend. I think the concept as a whole is sweet. Valentine’s Day is not just for couples, it’s about love in general. It’s a day to spend time with all the people that you love, it doesn’t have to be a romantic partner. Spend it with your family, you could do ‘Galentine’s Day’ with your friends, or just spend it alone focusing on loving yourself. You don’t need to search for love, it will come at the right time if you’re patient. You can’t force it. The best relationships come when you aren’t looking and you least expect it.
