“Living a healthy lifestyle is the goal, not your weight on a scale or your dress size.”
Hampton, VA
Being a woman, nothing is ever good enough, because there is something always better to look at.

I’m most insecure about my stomach and curves in general. Being insecure about these things affected me in many ways, such as me feeling sexualized in terms of everything I put on.

I feel pressured to have the perfect body, which is a small waist and big butt as seen in society. Physically I feel like I can’t wear certain clothes because it will draw more attention to my figure and shape.

Social media has been positive and negative to me. Nowadays, curvy girls are admired and embraced but then again, you’re expected to have a small waist still.

I feel pressured to be thick but only in the right place. It was only until I accepted my shape that I was able to be comfortable with myself.

My main goal is to have a healthy lifestyle. Also maintaining a healthy diet and working out helped me become more comfortable with my body. Other things that helped me cope with my insecurities was surrounding myself with people who don’t body shame me and helped me achieve my goal.

My advice for girls would be everybody comes in all shapes and sizes because we are made in our own unique way. You can’t stand out if we all look the same.

Living a healthy lifestyle is the goal, not your weight on a scale or your dress size. As a woman, our bodies change so love yourself no matter what.
